Mrs. Katrina Holmes M.Ed

Principal

My name is Mrs. Katrina Holmes,  this will be my first year at Elizabeth D. Redd Elementary School.  I previously served in a leadership role for seven years as an assistant principal at Cardinal Elementary School.  Before that, I taught at Troutville Elementary as a classroom teacher in Southwest Virginia for three years.  While at Troutville, I taught fifth-grade mathematics and science.  Before going to Southwest Virginia I taught fifth-grade mathematics for eight years at William Fox Elementary.   Prior to my formal years in the classroom, I worked as a tutor at various elementary schools throughout RPS.

I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Teaching in Early Child Education.  A few years later, I received my endorsement in Administration and Supervision K-12, from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Most recently I participated in a cohort offered through the University of Richmond and received an ESL endorsement.

Over the past 18 years, I have had the opportunity to: Expand with a great community of leaders, educators, families, and learners, encounter many unique experiences, and take on new roles.  I am delighted to join the Redd Team.  I enjoy supporting and helping people reach their goals.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  My hobbies include crafting, attending sporting events, reading, and traveling.

Educationally Yours,

Mrs. Katrina Holmes M.Ed
